Our Sweetest Chapter: Welcome to Behind The Scoop

I am so excited to finally be sharing this with you! Vecchia Gelato & Café is more than just coffee and gelato for us—it’s the next delicious chapter in our own family story.

As the husband-and-wife duo behind Vecchia Pizzeria, Brianna and I dreamed of creating a place that captured the softer side of Italian life. We imagined a spot where afternoons are sweet, the espresso is bold, the spritzes sparkle, and street food is served with the same care as a Sunday family meal. We wanted to bottle that feeling of la dolce vita and share it with all of you.

The Heart of Vecchia: What Makes Gelato Sing

Here at the Café, gelato is at the heart of it all—and if you’ve ever wondered how it’s different from ice cream, you’ve come to the right place.

We’ve poured our hearts into mastering this craft. We’ve learned that gelato uses more milk than cream, which means it naturally has less fat than traditional ice cream. It’s that lower fat content that allows the flavors to shine brighter on your taste buds.

It’s also all in the process. We churn our gelato more slowly, introducing less air and creating a gorgeously denser, smoother texture. And finally, we serve it at a slightly warmer temperature than ice cream. That little bit of warmth keeps it from numbing your tongue, letting it melt gently and allowing every single flavor to sing. It’s a difference we truly believe you can taste in every spoonful.
